A new report out shines impressive light on the hope for shock wave therapy to treat the pain of Plantar Fasciitis.  Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain.  This is generally considered an overuse pain, but its increasingly common in those walking less than 10,000 steps per day.  At one point it was considered primarily an athletes disease.  The new study supports the use of shock wave therapy, similar to that use to treat kidney stones.  The US Food and Drug Administration had already approved this treatment for severe heel pain.
